Yes, a free account: sign in with Google, Apple, or email and the first 10 minutes of any file are transcribed free. No credit card needed. An account keeps your transcripts saved and lets us keep quality high and spam out.
We consistently hit 95%+ accuracy on clear audio. Background noise, heavy accents, or overlapping speakers can bring that down a little, and we'd rather tell you that upfront than promise perfection. No. FileToText is a paid tool, and that's a deliberate choice: we compete on accuracy, not price. You can test the quality free on the first 10 minutes of any file. After that it's $3 per audio hour (billed per started hour, $3 minimum and $12 maximum per file) or a subscription from $10/month. And if a transcript ever lets you down, we refund the purchase. No questions asked.

Yes. Every transcript can be exported as SRT or WebVTT subtitle files, ready to drop into a video editor or upload alongside your file. Plain TXT and DOCX exports are also available if you just need the text.
You choose: pay once for a single file ($3 per started audio hour, with a $3 minimum: a 1 hour 2 minute file counts as 2 hours, so $6) or subscribe from $10/month if you transcribe often. Files over 2 hours cost $9+ as a one-off, at which point the Basic subscription at $10/month for 10 hours is usually the better deal. Either way, the exact price is shown before you pay. Self-serve, no retention flow: open Account, then Billing, click "Cancel plan", answer one quick question about why (it decides what we fix next, and we never argue with it), and confirm in the Stripe portal that opens. You will not be charged again, your plan and remaining minutes stay active until the end of the period you paid for, and all your transcripts remain in your account.
