FileToText is a paid tool: you pay for accuracy. The first 10 minutes of every file are free so you can verify that quality first, and every purchase is backed by a full refund, no questions asked.
Every file you upload gets its first 10 minutes transcribed free, on a free account, with no credit card. This is not a one-time trial: it applies to every file, every time. It exists so you can judge the transcript quality on your own audio before paying anything.
A single file costs $3 per audio hour, billed per started hour, with a $3minimum and a $12 maximum per file. Started hours count in full: a 30-minute file is $3 (the minimum), a 1 hour 2 minute file counts as 2 hours ($6), and a 2 hour 10 minute file counts as 3 hours ($9). Anything over 3 hours is capped at $12, no matter how long the file is. The exact price for your file is shown before you pay, and it is a one-time payment: no subscription, nothing renews.
Worth knowing: once a single file reaches $9 (anything over 2 hours), the Basic subscription at $10/month is usually the better deal, since it covers 10 hours every month. Not satisfied either way? Full refund, no questions asked.
Yearly billing gets you two months free: $100, $200, and $500 per year respectively. Monthly plans run month-to-month with no minimum term; yearly plans are billed once per year. Either way, canceling is self-serve and stops the next charge.
You are never hard-stopped. Extra hours are billed at $1.00/hour on Basic, $0.67/hour on Pro, and $0.63/hour on Business, shown on the pricing page before you subscribe.
Prices are shown in USD, EUR, or GBP based on your location. If you are in the EU, VAT is handled at checkout in line with EU tax rules. Stripe handles payment securely; we never see your card details.
Past what the Business plan covers (100 hours a month), we quote one flat rate below what the plans would cost. Get your price and you get a confirmation right away plus a personal rate within 4 business hours.
